Build Your Own Collaborative Project (9-hour module)

Are you interested in developing a project in collaboration with a community-based partner organization? Want to pursue public engagement or applied research, but unsure where to start?

In this 9-hour course, you’ll learn strategies for building mutually beneficial off-campus relationships, including how to:

  • brainstorm possibilities for community partnership building on your own research or interests,
  • determine stakeholder needs and gaps, and
  • approach potential partner organizations for research or collaboration

This group-based training program is brought to you in collaboration with entrepreneurship@UBC. Expect to commit 9 hours of time in a workshop and 10 hours of your own time, working on your idea.

“Build Your Own Collaborative Project” is the companion training program to “Amplify Your Product or Service“:

  • “Amplify” is intended for people who want to start up new initiatives on their own or in a small group–not for people who want to identify stakeholders and potential collaborators.
  • “Build” is intended for people who want identify stakeholders and potential collaborators–not for folks who want to start up new initiatives on their own or in a small group of colleagues.

Synchronous meetings will take place:

  • Thursdays 9-12pm on Oct 7, Oct 21, and Nov 4

This non-credit, synchronous module is for UBC Arts graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
