This program brings together a small group of UBC Arts graduate students and postdocs to explore diverse career possibilities and learn strategies to chart a personally meaningful course as a professional. You’ll use a combination of self-assessment tools and interactive exercises to better understand your professional ambitions in relation to your personal values and aspirations.
Those who complete the studio will:
- Gain a better understanding of a range of meaningful career options for Arts grad students beyond tenure track teaching
- Learn how to explore career possibilities using a design thinking framework that emphasizes personal exploration and experimentation
- Practice strategies and engage with materials that can help you answer your career questions.
- Build a sense of sense of connection and camaraderie among graduate students across the Faculty of Arts interested in exploring their career options
- Learn about supports and programs on campus related to career exploration
Our next Career Design Studio for Arts Graduate Students will take place from 9am-4pm on October 25 on the UBC Vancouver campus.
Please note that the Career Design Studio is highly interactive and those who register are expected to participate fully.
